Double Win   10th July 2016
Delta has had a fantastic week with two reasons to celebrate. Firstly, her fifth album Wings Of The Wild debuted at #1 on the ARIA album charts, becoming her fourth album to reach the top spot. Secondly, Team Delta went into the grand finale of The Voice with two out of the four finalists and Delta ended up having the top two artists, Adam Ladell and the winner Alfie Arcuri!
Delta’s latest single Enough was performed on The Voice last week, resulting in a chart increase from #46 to #33, and the music video has just premiered. Tickets for Delta’s Wings Of The Wild Tour have also gone on sale, with the VIP Meet & Greet packages selling out within minutes! A bonus track, called Morse Code, was made available for fans who bought VIP tickets for the tour.
Despite no physicals copies and no promotion, the album also managed to chart in the UK at #129 on digital sales and streams alone. It reached #28 on the album downloads chart and #94 on the sales chart. This is Delta’s first appearance on the UK charts since 2005, so hopefully a proper promo trip is planned for the album later in the year.

Wings Of The Wild   23rd June 2016
2016 has been a year of surprises, and this last week Delta dropped the biggest one yet! On Sunday, Delta teased fans with a list of coordinates, which turned out to be the locations for her upcoming arena tour, the Wings Of The Wild Tour. Delta will be performing shows in Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane in October and November this year. Tickets go on sale next week! If that wasn’t enough, a few days later Delta posted a series of lyrics followed by the announcement of her long-awaited fifth studio album, also entitled Wings Of The Wild. The album will be released next week on 1 July, while a new single, Enough featuring American rapper Gizzle, is now available as an instant grat track when you pre-order the album. Previous singles Only Human, Wings and Dear Life feature on the album, as well as a cover of British band The Darkness’s 2003 hit, I Believe In A Thing Called Love.
Of course with a new album will come a new Planet Delta site! Watch this space as an update will be coming very soon...

Dear Life   24th April 2016
Last week, Delta announced a brand new single called Dear Life would be released on 6 May, following a series of cryptic images posted across her social media accounts. After teasing fans with piano samples over the week, the song premiered on radio on Thursday, and is a beautiful ballad co-written with DNA, with whom Delta worked on her #1 hit Wings. It was also announced that Delta will perform the single at this year’s Logie Awards on 8 May. In addition, Delta will be making instore appearances at Westfield stores in Sydney and Melbourne next week, where she is already very present as an ambassador of their Own Your Story campaign. Meanwhile, Delta will return to TV screens on the fifth season of The Voice, which will begin to air on 1 May.

Happy Easter!   27th March 2016
Firstly, Happy Easter to everyone! This is always a special time for Planet Delta, as we were launched on Easter Sunday 2004! Therefore, it seemed an appropriate time for a long-awaited update. As you can see, we’ve reverted back to the 2013 layout, so it’s not a big update, but it’s one nonetheless! A lot has happened in the last couple of years, so below you’ll find a quick recap of the highlights.
Delta kicked off 2014 with a stunning performance of Des’ree’s Kissing You from the 1996 film Romeo + Juliet as part of a tribute to the director Baz Luhrmann at the AACTA Awards, which you can see
here. Also in 2014, Delta was announced as the face of Oral-B, and recorded a version of Joe Cocker’s You Can Leave Your Hat On for a TV advert here. As part of her involvement with Oral-B, Delta also returned to Mardi Gras for the second year running, and performed a medley of her hits, complete with shiny white teeth! Delta took a break from The Voice for its third season, but instead took on the role of coach in the first Australian season of The Voice Kids, where she mentored 10 year-old Alexa Curtis to victory. In September, Delta joined Andrea Bocelli on tour for a third time, this time performing to crowds in Australia and New Zealand. They sang classics such as Canto della terra, Time To Say Goodbye, Can’t Help Falling In Love, and Delta performed a cover of Martika’s 1991 Australian #1 single Love Thy Will Be Done, which was also released as a single. Delta ended the year celebrating her 30th birthday as well as the 30th anniversary of Neighbours, for which she reprised her role as Nina Tucker for three episodes you can see here. Delta also duetted with Gurrumul again on a beautiful version of Silent Night for the Salvation Army’s annual Spirit Of Christmas album.

2015 was a big year for Delta. In March, Delta released a new single, Only Human, which featured on the 30th anniversary special episode of Neighbours, and this brought her back into the iTunes UK top 100 for the first time in ten years (more on that later)! Delta also returned to her chair for the fourth season of The Voice, and went on tour with fellow coach Ricky Martin, performing duets on Private Emotion and Nobody Wants To Be Lonely, as well as showcasing her own material. 2015 saw a few older songs from Delta surface: You And You Alone, which was written in the Delta era, was released on Delta’s Facebook page as part of a wedding video for her two close friends here, while two other songs, Love Is A Liar and Leave You With Love, believed to have been recorded in the Child Of The Universe era, were leaked online. A brand new song, Wings, was released in July and following a stellar performance on The Voice, it shot to #1, giving Delta her ninth chart-topping single! As with Only Human earlier in the year, the song gained some traction on iTunes UK, and this led to a much-anticipated and much-welcomed return to British shores from Delta in October! She appeared on Lorraine (here) and Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two (here), performed a secret show in an art gallery in Chelsea (here) and ended the week with a phenomenal performance at G-A-Y Heaven (here). After her UK trip, Delta took on a new role as Grizabella in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats, performing 100 shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart and Brisbane to rave reviews. In between all this, Delta also managed to record a duet with Human Nature on Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, for a re-release of their Christmas album, and headlined Carols By Candlelight again, performing her versions of O Come All Ye Faithful, O Holy Night and All I Want For Christmas Is You. If you haven’t already, please check out the 2015 montage video I made here, which Delta herself endorsed here!

Now here we are in 2016, and Delta is back on The Voice for its fifth season, and we should also expect Delta’s fifth studio album this year!

Heart Hypnotic   22nd June 2013
This week, Delta revealed a surprise new single entitled Heart Hypnotic, which was co-written and produced with Ryan Tedder while the two of them were working together on The Voice. Delta performed the song for the first time at the Grand Finale of The Voice on Monday and it has just debuted at #7 on the ARIA singles chart. Heart Hypnotic is thought to be the first single from Delta’s upcoming fifth studio album, which Delta hopes to release at the start of next year.

Bayini   8th June 2013
A couple of weeks ago, Delta performed with Indigenous Australian musician Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu during the live shows of The Voice Australia. Along with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the pair sang the track Bayini, originally recorded by Gurrumul and Sarah Blasko, to mark the start of Reconciliation Week in Australia. Due to an overwhelming public response, the live performance was released as a single on iTunes last week, where it hit the #1 spot. This week, the song officially debuted on the ARIA singles chart at #4, giving Gurrumul his first ever charting single and Delta her thirteenth top 5 hit.
Meanwhile, take a look at a mashup I recently made of Delta’s Sitting On Top Of The World and Madonna’s Ray Of Light

Ain’t No Mountain High Enough   24th May 2013
Delta has recently collaborated with Michael Bolton again, featuring on the title track from the Australian version of his latest album, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough - A Tribute To Hitsville USA, released earlier this month. The two performed the song on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday and you can watch this spectacular performance in the Videos section.
Delta has spent much of the year working on the second season of The Voice Australia, which also won the award for Most Popular Light Entertainment Program at this year’s Logie Awards. During the Battle Rounds of the show, Delta was assisted by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, and it has been recently announced that the two of them have been working on a new single together, due to be released shortly.

Merry Christmas!   24th December 2012
Since the release of Child Of The Universe, which peaked at #2 on the ARIA charts, Delta has completed her album launch shows (although having to cut one short after scalding her legs with boiling water), visited New Zealand and recorded an EP entitled Christmas featuring five Christmas songs in a bluegrass style. As well as this, Delta has just headlined at the annual Carols By Candlelight event, performing Blue Christmas and Amazing Grace.
All that’s left to say is a very merry Christmas and a happy 2013 from Planet Delta!
